“I have learned that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”

about

As an only child growing up in a suburb of Washington, D.C., books became Marley’s companions at an early age. While other children played dress-up and participated in ballgames, Marley devoured books on astronomy, human anatomy and classics like Les Miserables, Charles Dickens, Tom Swift and Nancy Drew. Marley’s mother worked at NASA so Marley  hoped to be the first woman on the moon, or a least the first female test pilot.  Needless to say…

Talk about culture shock! When this city girl arrived in the rural South, she found a different world. Life on a Louisiana bayou with all the wildlife it entails, including snakes and alligators. She shares her writing space with the sounds of rippling water, fish leaping, graceful blue herons feeding on the bank, deer grazing the opposite bank, hummingbirds dive bombing, and squirrels chattering.

Marley always had a pen in her hand. But after too many 80 hour workweeks helping others achieve their dreams, she decided to pursue her own passion – writing.

Like her singing, sales, computer training and management careers, she has committed herself to learning the craft, studying the industry, long hours with her fingers on the keyboard, and working with other writing professionals.

Life on the bayou is much simpler than in the city and - when it's not storming - meditative, the perfect place to spin emotional stories of love.
